.
OBJECTIVES

This project has  got two main objectives which are being pushed forward by the organizers and the participating schools in Germany
The Klassik Stiftung Weimar, Thüringian Ministry of Education Science and Culture represented by THHILM (Institut für Lehrerfortbildung Lehrplanenentwicklung und Medien) aims to introduce the visiting
students from Asia to discover German cultural history through the introduction to the Weimar Classicism. Goethe, Schiller, Herder, Wieland just to name a few great names of Germany and Europe's intellectual past had contributed to the extraordinary rich cultural of this country. This project adheres to its conviction that one couldn't understand Germany's past without having been introduced to this part of this German history.
The guided visits to the different historical monuments and the several project workshops offered to the students by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar lead to the awareness of alternative approaches to learning.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS

The participating schools aim to establish contact with an Asian school and vice versa. The schools
help students  discover and understand  different cultural similarities and differences between them. As the participating students stay with host-families, integration into another family is one of the challenges which must be learned by the students.
It would help the students to develop sensitivity towards others and
develop an ability to reach compromise. This could result to a lasting friendship  between students.

The teachers and students also win an impression and knowledge on
how learning take place in their host schools , method of teaching and classroom managements. This is achieve through the participation of students and teachers in the classrooms.

Thüringian Ministry of Education Science and Culture represented by THHILM (Institut für Lehrerfortbildung Lehrplanenentwicklung und Medien) aims to connect schools in Thüringen with Asian schools. It believes that an exchange with Asian countries and the person to person encounter of teachers would contribute to acquiring first hand knowledge on topics related to education of the visiting school from Asia. This could also result to establishing future partnership with other school in cooperation with the Klassik Stiftung Weimar.

COST

No registration fees nor any other fees are being charged for this project. The Klassik Stiftung Weimar offers this international program without any charges.
The visiting students are expected to shoulder their airfare, visa fees and other expenses that they may incur for their travel. Cost of personal excursions to other cities or any other activities must be paid by the project participants. Depending on the arrangement between the schools, the hosting school may ask the visiting schools to pay for the activities like cost of transport, entrance fees and so on. This would be discussed and settled before the visit.

Any cost arising from excursions after schools or any other outside school activities like visiting neighboring cities, sites and so on are to be paid by the participants.

INTERNATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE
International Health insurance is strictly required and must be bought by the participants.

Note:  1. It may happen that the German school would accommodate the Asian school but won't be visiting the Indian school. 2.  ESWWSE under my direction provides an Introduction to German online class and is free of charge. Once a week, 1.5 hours per session and for three months. This also includes introduction to Weimar Classicism which is very important and I personally require.  It would be very frustrating to go to Weimar without the prior knowledge of this period.
